About The Event:
We’re getting ready for the 2021 City Nature Challenge! Learn how to observe and record urban biodiversity and make it count! Between April 30th and May 3rd, hundreds of cities worldwide will be celebrating Nature and gather observations of species found in our area with the help of all who want to participate in the worldwide 2021 City Nature Challenge (CNC). Such events are known as Bioblitz events. During this virtual event, the Earthwise Aware team reviews some of the tools you might need to participate including iNaturalist and strategies for making observations in your city and in the places where we study urban and climate effects on local biodiversity (including in Somerville, Fresh Pond Reservoir, Middlesex Fells and Horn Pond). Join us! It’s fun and insightful. These days it also brings relief by connecting us with Nature. It’s also a great opportunity to deepen wildlife ethics and help science while getting to learn about our communities and their biodiversity!

About the
Festival

Cambridge Science Festival, the first of its kind in the United States, is a madcap celebration of science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). A multifaceted, multicultural event, the Festival makes science accessible, interactive, and fun, highlighting the impact of STEAM in all our lives.

For the 2021 Festival, we will host a month-long celebration of STEAM in our community with an overarching theme of gratitude and appreciation. During the month of April 2021, we will showcase creative digital and virtual entries from our rich STEAM community.
