About The Event:
Explore Mass General history and how it connects to the present day.

Presented by the staff of the Russell Museum at Mass General, the event includes a virtual tour of the Ether Dome where surgical anesthesia debuted in 1846. We’ll also talk about how the hospital responded to crises such as the 1918 flu pandemic and how the hospital has adapted to the coronavirus pandemic.

The presentation will include a slide show of current and historical images, polls, and discussion.

This program is geared for eighth-graders through adults.
