DESCRIPTION
We are holding a Robot Petting Zoo where we teach younger children how to drive our competition robots, which is an engaging and inspiring experience for many. Furthermore, we will more information about our team and FIRST, as we display our portfolios, PR packets, and Engineering Notebooks. Overall, it is a great experience to engage with the local community and share our love for STEM and robotics.
The Winsor Robotics club has two FIRST teams, including is the award-winning FTC team #13620, and FTC team #20409. Composed of students from grades 9-12 at the Winsor School, the club was founded in 2017 with a mission to uplift gender minorities in STEM, and since its creation, it has become an active part of the Winsor and FTC communities. FTC stands for the FIRST Tech Challenge by the organization FIRST, an international high school robotics competition. To optimize efficiency and encourage students to explore their interests in the multifaceted nature of STEM, both Winsor Robotics teams have three sub-groups: building, coding, and business. This way, we can ensure that team members are prepared for careers in STEM beyond high school.
