Arcturus is Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s autonomous robotics team. We are the newest Edgerton Center team, and 2023 will be our second year of competition! We compete in RoboBoat, an annual international competition where undergraduate students design and build a small Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV) to complete a variety of tasks that mimic real-world challenges facing the maritime industry. At the 2022 final competition, held in Sarasota, Florida, Arcturus came in 3rd place in the design portion of the competition and 4th place in the autonomous challenge. This season, we will also build a general testing platform for an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle as well as a secondary boat to test a different software system.
