Feel the Pressure

Good For:
Experiment with Pressure and Fluid Flow! Follow along with Amgen scientists in this hands on experiment! You will learn the basic principles of fluid mechanics and pressure by observing how fluids like water or oil flow between three containers at different heights and pressures.

Run this experiment in your own home “lab” using common household items:
3 plastic bottles, water, oil, straws/flexible tubing, glue for creating water tight seal, scissors or another tool to cut holes in plastic bottles, food coloring, clamp or bag clip to stop flow.

Cambridge Science Festival, the first of its kind in the United States, is a madcap celebration of science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM).
